Q&A

Why did you sign up to be a judge for The Pros Awards 2024?

For too long, the fantastic work that BME’s have been delivering in the PR/comms sector has been ignored – not anymore.

Thanks to The Pros Awards, we now have a platform to give our folks the flowers they deserve and I want to do everything in my power to support in doing that.

What Insta/Twitter(X)/Tik Tok account should every comms pro follow and why?
Munya Chawawa – hands down – on Instagram. This man is unbeatable, he is on the news like white on rice. Within seconds he has a HILARIOUS take on what’s going on and i’m always in awe!
What was your favourite PR/comms story from 2023 and why?
My favourite PR/comms campaign was Rihanna’s Half Time show at the SuperBowl where she chose a moment mid-set to powder her nose with a piece from her cosmetics brand, Fenty Beauty. And as a result, searches for her products went through the roof. It was a perfect case study of the power of subtlety.

As before we’ve got a great DJ booked for The Pros Awards awards ceremony in July – what’s your dancefloor-filler request?
