Q&A

Why did you sign up to be a judge for The Pros Awards 2024?

The community that BME PR Pros has created is undeniable. It’s a community genuinely committed to inclusion, and to highlighting and celebrating the work of people who are often forgotten in an industry that only remembers us when it is an awareness day or when they have to respond to a crisis. I have always admired from the sidelines so when I got the call (email!), it was a no-brainer.

What Insta/Twitter(X)/Tik Tok account should every comms pro follow and why?

@prgirlmanifesto on Instagram. A US-based community platform for diverse comms professionals. It has great Q&As with comms leaders, good insights, and is just a good place to see diverse comms professionals thriving.

What was your favourite PR/comms story from 2023 and why?

My favourite story from 2023 – and not something I would have predicted happening – was Snoop Dogg joining LinkedIn. Not only has he expertly pivoted, providing insights into building a personal brand, but also highlighted how crucial it is to be intentional about showing up where your audiences are. He has enormous reach but understood that the platforms that worked for him as an entertainer would not work for him as a multi-hyphenate business leader.

As before we’ve got a great DJ booked for The Pros Awards awards ceremony in July – what’s your dancefloor-filler request?
