Isobel has been the director of media relations for Visa Europe for almost three and a half years, responsible for the proactive media engagement for the European headquarters of one of the world’s leading digital payment providers.

She joined the world of financial services after a long stint in telecoms, including five years in various corporate and policy comms roles at Vodafone; and she was also the head of external comms for TalkTalk. She spent a number of years working in public affairs and communications agencies in central London after starting her career as a press officer for O2.

She currently lives in Oxfordshire, and is trying to learn French in between wrangling her semi-feral children.

q&a

Why did you sign up to be a judge for The Pros Awards 2026?

The best awards night in the industry? Do you even have to ask? And besides, getting the opportunity to review some of the freshest, most exiting PR work out there is a complete personal and professional pleasure.

What Insta/LinkedIn/Tik Tok account should every comms pro follow and why?

Still loving Stephen Bush’s insight on the ongoing government/policy disfunction. One of the few journalists able to maintain good momentum after transitioning away from X.

What was your favourite PR/comms campaign from 2025 and why?

I think Greggs’ can be a bit overrated (not really a fan of their sausage rolls, vegan or otherwise) but I’m a sucker for their pop-ups. Loved last year’s ‘Golden Flake’ pub, not least because it combined a number of my very favourite things: beer, steak bakes and Newcastle city centre. Reet canny.
