Efe Otokiti is a freelance content and editorial specialist who spent seven-plus years in agencies, writing for most major tech brands in one form or another. He’s worked across just about every format going, from punchy social campaigns to long-form thought leadership, whitepapers and research reports. After winning Creator of the Year at the inaugural Pros Awards, he took the hint and struck out on his own soon after. Today, he supports a wide mix of tech clients, sometimes parachuting in to advise, other times running the full content strategy and delivery end to end. He’s known for insight-led work that’s clear, human and useful, even when the topic is deeply technical. Recent projects span fintech, AI and connectivity, often turning messy source material into sharp, shareable narratives fast. Outside of client life, Efe has too many hobbies to list, but most roads lead back to more writing.

q&a

Why did you sign up to be a judge for The Pros Awards 2026?

I love the work Elizabeth does. More importantly, I love that, despite all the societal backlash DEI has faced, she hasn’t backed down one bit. Just because some fascists deemed it no longer “cool” to support diversity and inclusion, doesn’t mean it became any less important. Looking at the world, most would argue this work has never been more crucial. So however I can support her in fighting the good fight, I’m always keen.

What was your favourite PR/comms campaign from 2025 and why?

I’m not as plugged into the PR/comms world as I once was now I’m freelance, but I really loved TaskRabbit’s lyric-parody OOH on the Tube. It was simple, clever and weirdly sticky, the kind of idea that lodges in your head after you’ve walked past it once. And I love campaigns where the words do almost all the heavy lifting.

As always, we’ve got a great DJ booked for The Pros Awards award ceremony in September – what’s your dance floor filler request?

In celebration of Black excellence, I’m putting forward “I lied to you” from the Sinners soundtrack. Love that song/movie so much, it’s insane.
