Outside of work, Dev also has a keen interest in initiatives supporting LGBTQ+ and BIPOC people respectively, through volunteer projects, cabaret performances and mentoring schemes.

Q&A

Why did you sign up to be a judge for The Pros Awards 2024?

To help shine a light on BIPOC talent across the industry, and to explore the different approaches taken to create meaningful and engaging comms results. The Pros Awards are important to me, because they provide an equitable platform for professionals and remove the systematic barriers BIPOC professionals often face.

What Insta/Twitter(X)/Tik Tok account should every comms pro follow and why?
Tik Tok – mollybmcpherson
Always giving an in-depth review of PR activities and making sense of action plans/strategies taken on high profile cases/incidents. Always unbiased and very engaging to watch.
What was your favourite PR/comms story from 2023 and why?
The Olaplex Dupe – clever and subtle, made a huge impact and helped the brand keep it’s identity and product credibility. Also very forward thinking on the dupe trend which has backfired for some brands.

As before we’ve got a great DJ booked for The Pros Awards awards ceremony in July – what’s your dancefloor-filler request?

Mary Mary – Shackles
